Count six spaces from your sign
Start at Aries, then count Taurus as one, Gemini as two, Cancer as three, Leo as four, Virgo as five, and Libra as six. Libra sits across from Aries. The same six-space rule works from any sign, even if the chart wheel is turned on the page.
Keep the six pairs nearby
Aries–Libra, Taurus–Scorpio, Gemini–Sagittarius, Cancer–Capricorn, Leo–Aquarius, and Virgo–Pisces. Each pair names two positions across the zodiac circle. You can use the list when a chart shows sign names in a table instead of a wheel.
Across the wheel is a position, not a verdict
Here, ‘opposite’ tells you where two signs sit. It does not mean two people with those Sun signs must disagree, get along, or become a couple. The wheel helps you locate the pair; real relationships are more than chart labels.

Do I need my birth time to find a sign's opposite?
No. These six pairs belong to the zodiac wheel itself. A birth time is needed for some personal chart positions, but not to find the sign across from another sign.
